Terms And Conditions

Your purchase of any Fiji Airways seat is subject to these terms and conditions.

By paying for Seat Selection, you are deemed to have understood and accepted these terms and conditions.

1. Definitions

The following terms shall have the following meanings:

Fiji Airways means Air Pacific Limited trading as Fiji Airways.

Fiji Airways Website means www.fijiairways.com.

Exit Door means an emergency exit door.

Reservations Call Centre means the Fiji Airways reservations call center.

Sales Office means a Fiji Airways sales office.

Seat Selection means chargeable seat selection.

2. Types of Seat Selection

Fiji Airways offers the following four types of Seat Selection:

(a) Premium Seats - seats that have extra legroom. There are two types of extra legroom seats:

(i) Bulkhead Seats – these are seats at the front row of the economy cabin, some of which have a bassinet; and

(ii) Exit Row Seats – these are seats situated either next to, adjacent to or immediately behind an Exit Door.

(b) Pre-reserved Seats- seats that are located immediately behind the Bulkhead Seats or Exit Row Seats. There are two types of pre-reserved seats:

(i) Forward Seats– the first 2 to 4 rows of the economy cabin (depending on the aircraft type), immediately behind the Bulkhead Seats; and

(ii) Standard Seats –seats located immediately behind the Forward Seats and Exit Row Seats.

3. Seat Selection and modifications

Seat selection is only available on flights operated by Fiji Airways.

Seat Selection prices are published on the Fiji Airways Website and are subject to change at any time.

You can pay for and manage Seat Selection online via the “ Manage Your Booking ” tab on the Fiji Airways Website, or alternatively, by calling the Reservations Call Centre or attending a Sales Office.

Premium Seats can also be purchased on the day of your scheduled departure at the airport.

Seat Selection is available until:

(a) 10 hours prior to your scheduled departure time via the Reservations Call Centre or Sales Office; and

(b) 4 hours prior to your scheduled departure time via the Fiji Airways Website.

Seat Selection requests for bookings made via indirect channels (including but not limited to online travel agents) need to be paid within 6 hours of confirmation of booking by calling the Reservations Call Centre or attending a Sales Office. Premium Seats can also be purchased on the day of your scheduled departure at the airport.

Within the above time period, provided that you have not checked in for your flight, you may change your seat request as follows:

(a) move to another available seat of the same value within the same cabin, free of charge;

(b) move to another available seat of a higher value within the same cabin (for example, from a Pre –reserved Seat to a Premium Seat), upon payment of the price difference;

(c) move to another available seat of a lower value within the same cabin (for example, from a Premium Seat to a Pre-reserved Seat). In this case, the price difference between the two seats is not refundable; or

(d) upgrade to a seat in a higher cabin class (for example, from economy class to business class). In this case, any amount paid for Seat Selection in the economy cabin is refundable.

Seat Selection is applicable for one flight sector only. For example, if you are travelling SYD-NAN-LAX, and you have purchased Seat Selection for SYD-NAN. The seat selection applies for SYD-NAN only. If you wish to purchase Seat Selection for NAN-LAX, you will need to purchase it separately.

Seat Selection cannot be transferred from one booking to another.

4. Tickets issued by other airline

If your ticket was issued by another airline and is a flight operated by Fiji Airways but marketed by another airline, you can purchase Seat Selection at the airport on the day of your scheduled departure.

If your ticket was issued by another airline, but contains a Fiji Airways flight number (FJ), you can purchase Seat Selection via the “ Manage Your Booking ” tab on the Fiji Airways Website, or alternatively, by calling the Reservations Call Centre or attending a Sales Office. Premium Seats can also be purchased on the day of your scheduled departure at the airport.

5. Change of Seat Selection by Fiji Airways

Seat Selection is not guaranteed and we may need to change your seat on the day of your travel for operational, safety, legal or security reasons. For example:

(a) to accommodate a passenger with medical requirements or disabilities;

(b) to accommodate an infant and their caregiver; or

(c) where there is a safety, mechanical or operational reason (including an aircraft change).

6. Non-transferable

Seat Selection is not transferable to another passenger.

7. Cancelling your Seat Selection

If you cancel your Seat Selection less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, or you fail to check-in for your flight, then you will forfeit any amount paid for Seat Selection.

8. Refunds

You will be eligible for a full refund of the amount you paid for Seat Selection if:

(a) you cancel your Seat Selection more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, subject to your fare rules;

(b) for any reason your Seat Selection is not available and we are unable to seat you in an equivalent or better seat type;

(c) we transfer you to a flight not operated by Fiji Airways for operational reasons; or

(d) you have a fully refundable ticket and you request a refund of your ticket; in this case, we will refund both your ticket and any amounts paid for Seat Selection.

You will not be eligible for a refund if you:

(a) cancel your non-refundable booking or change your mind;

(b) have purchased (or someone else purchased on your behalf) the wrong seat by mistake;

(c) are upgraded;

(d) breach these terms and conditions; or

(e) cannot meet the requirements for an Exit Row Seat (if your preferred seat is an Exit Row Seat).

If you qualify for a refund, you must apply no later than 3 months after the date of the last flight on their itinerary. All refund request must be sent to refunds@fijiairways.com.

9. Special needs

If you have specific needs, please should contact Reservations Call Center or attend a Sales Office directly to arrange an appropriate seat.

10. Exit Row Seats (reference: US DOT 14 CFR 121.585 Exit Seating)

To qualify to sit in an Exit Row Seat, you must:

(a) be at least fifteen years old;

(b) not be travelling with someone who needs your assistance in an emergency e.g. an infant or child unless there is another guardian seated elsewhere with the child;

(c) not require the use of an infant/extension seat belt;

(d) be willing and able to move quickly and assist crew in an emergency situation;

(e) be willing and able to listen to a briefing, check outside conditions and follow instructions given in English by crew;

(f) be physically able to reach, open, lift and throw out an emergency exit up to twenty seven (27) kgs;

(g) be able to, upon instructions locate and operate an exit door and direct others expeditiously to the exit;

(h) not be travelling with a service dog;

(i) not have an amputated or prosthetic limb;

(j) have sufficient mobility, strength or dexterity in both arms, hands and both legs;

(k) be able to adequately impart information verbally to other passengers;

(l) not have a visual impairment that is not corrected by use of spectacles/glasses/contact lenses, which must be worn during taxi, take-off and landing

(m) not have a condition that may cause harm if he or she performs functions as instructed by the crew member in the unlikely event of an emergency; and

(n) not have a hearing impairment that is not corrected by use of a hearing aid/device, which must be worn during taxi, take-off and landing.

If you do not meet the above requirements, you should not book an Exit Row Seat.

Check-in for passengers seated in Exit Row Seats is only available at airport check-in counters and online. This service is not available at airport self-service check-in kiosks.

Fiji Airways will, in its sole discretion determine whether you meet the above requirements to sit in an Exit Row Seat at check in or during boarding. If you do not meet the requirements, you will be assigned to an alternative seat and you will not be refunded any amount paid for an Exit Row Seat.

If between the date of purchasing an Exit Row Seat and 24 hours before travel you become unable to fulfil the requirements to sit in an Exit Row Seat, please notify your local Sales Office immediately. If you notify Fiji Airways at least 24 hours prior to departure, you will be transferred to a regular economy seat, and the additional amount paid for an Exit Row Seat will be refunded.

Exit Row Seat refund conditions are independent to your ticket refund conditions.

11. Passengers with disabilities (reference: US DOT 14 CFR 382.81 Seating Accommodations)

We will assist you if you have a disability in securing a comfortable seat (free of charge) that best suits your needs in the same class of service. We highly encourage you to submit your request more than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled flight. We will do our best to accommodate your requests in one or more of the following:

(a) If you use an aisle chair to access the aircraft, we will provide a seat in a row with a movable aisle armrest;

(b) We will provide an adjoining seat for any person who will assist you in the following circumstances:

(i) If you require personal care attendant who will be assisting you during your scheduled flight (e.g, assistance with eating);

(ii) If you have a vision impairment and are traveling with a reader/assistant who will be assisting you during your scheduled flight;

(iii) If you have hearing impairment and are traveling with an interpreter who will assist you during your scheduled flight; or

(iv) If you require to travel with a safety assistant.

(c) If you are travelling with a service animal, we will provide, as you may request, either a Bulkhead Seat or a seat other than a Bulkhead Seat.

(d) If you have a fused or immobilized leg, we will provide a Bulkhead Seat or other seat that provides greater legroom than other seats, on the side of an aisle that better accommodates your disability.

If you have a disability, or if you plan to travel with a specialized seating device, please should contact the Reservations Call Centre or visit a Sales Office.

12. No representation or warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fiji Airways makes no warranties (express or implied), and makes no representations with respect to the availability, suitability, advantages, features or experience of any particular seat. You agree that your Seat Selection is made based on your own judgment, tastes and preferences.

13. Variation

We may vary these terms and conditions from time to time. We will notify you of these changes by updating these terms and conditions on the Fiji Airways Website.

14. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Fiji.
