Bula Bid Upgrades Terms And Conditions

 

All Guests carried by Fiji Airways are subject to our Conditions of Carriage, and the fare rules and conditions provided at the time of purchasing a ticket. The following terms and conditions apply specifically to participating in our Bula Bid Programme, whereby Guests can make an offer to Fiji Airways (Offer) for an opportunity to upgrade to our Business class cabin from a ticket purchased for travel on Fiji Airways in economy class ( Upgrade).

1. You must be at least 18 years of age to make an Offer. Infants are not eligible to participate in the Bula Bid Programme.

2. Offers are only eligible on flights operated by Fiji Airways with tickets that contain a flight number that starts with a FJ prefix, at the absolute discretion of Fiji Airways. Bula Bid is only available on flights, dates and destinations selected by Fiji Airways in its sole and absolute discretion.

3. Your Bula Bid Offer will be accepted or rejected in Fiji Airways’ sole and absolute discretion, taking into account various factors, on a case by case basis.

4. When you submit an Offer, the Offer will entitle the person or persons named on the Offer, subject to these Terms and Conditions, to be considered for an Upgrade.

5. If there are multiple Guests in a booking, the upgrade offer applies to each Guest. The Offer amount will be multiplied by the number of Guests included in the booking.

6. Your offer amount does not include the value of the original economy class ticket purchased. The offer you make is incremental to the value you have already paid for your economy class ticket.

7. The following forms of payment can be used to fulfil an upgrade offer:

- American Express

- MasterCard

- Visa

- Diners Club

The payment will only be deducted if an Offer is selected as successful. Vouchers and other forms of payment or consideration not expressly provided for in these Terms and Conditions cannot be used to make or fulfil an Offer.

8. The following bookings are no eligible for Bula Bid Offers: tickets purchased using rewards, redemption tickets, free tickets, ID discounts, AD discounts and bookings including an infant.

9. You can modify or cancel an Offer up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure. You cannot submit or modify an Offer within 24 hours prior to the departure of your flight. Cancellation penalties, as per fare conditions applicable to the original ticket purchased, will apply if an accepted Offer is rejected within 24 hours of travel.

10. If the original booking is modified or cancelled after you have made an Offer but before the Offer has been accepted by Fiji Airways, the Offer will be deemed invalid and will not be considered.

11. Fiji Airways reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to decide whether or not an Offer is successful, and makes no representation that any Guest will receive an Upgrade, regardless of whether or not seats are available in the cabin class for which an Offer is made. An Offer may be accepted or rejected by Fiji Airways at any time within 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure.

12. You will via notified by email whether your Offer has been accepted or rejected within 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure.

13. You must wait until you have received notification from Fiji Airways that your Upgrade Offer has been accepted or rejected before checking-in online. If you check-in online before receiving such notification from the airline, your Upgrade Offer will no longer be valid.

14. If your Bula Bid Offer is accepted, Fiji Airways will deduct from your nominated credit card the amount of your Offer in the currency displayed on the payment page at the time the Offer was made by you.

15. If you are successful in obtaining an Upgrade, you are eligible to access the business class lounge at the point of departure on the upgraded segment only. For example, if you receive an Upgrade on a flight from Sydney to Nadi, you will be eligible to use the business class lounge at Sydney, but not in Nadi. In addition, you will be entitled to business class cabin baggage allowances on as per Fiji Airways Baggage Policies .

16. The fare rules and conditions applicable to your original ticket shall remain in effect and will be applicable even if your Offer is accepted and you are upgraded, including, but not limited to, cancellation policies and change fees.

17. There will be no refunds, credits, or exchanges once your Offer has been accepted by Fiji Airways, and your credit card has been charged, unless one of the following conditions applies:

a. A flight for which an Offer is selected as being successful is cancelled or disrupted, and Fiji Airways re-accommodates you onto another flight in the original cabin class booked.

b. Your Offer was accepted and you were given an Upgrade, but you were not able to be seated in the Upgraded cabin class for reasons solely attributable to Fiji Airways, including, but not limited to, a change in equipment, a delay in the connecting flight that resulted in your missing the connection for which you received an Upgrade, but excluding reasons attributable to your actions, including, but not limited to, your own decision to change your flight, missing your flight for which you received an Upgrade.

18. You are entitled to refunds, credits, or exchanges under applicable Fare Rules based on the original economy class ticket purchased and/or our Conditions of Carriage. Approved refunds will be processed in the currency in which the Offer amount was charged. Refunds are limited to the amount charged for the Upgrade. No bank-related charges will be refunded. Refunds ordinarily take 21 working days to appear in your account.

19. Where refunds are approved for the reasons specified in clause 17, Fiji Airways will refund the amount of the Offer (less any bank-related charges), and will have no further liability to you.

20. No refund will be issued in the case of a change in aircraft where the Upgraded cabin class is still made available to you.

21. If you modify your booking after being notified that your Offer is successful, Fiji Airways has no obligation to seat you in the Upgraded cabin class, and the Upgrade will be forfeited without a refund.

22. Fiji Airways does not guarantee specific seat assignments to Guests who receive an Upgrade.

23. Fiji Airways reserves the right to modify and otherwise change these Terms and Conditions in its absolute discretion. The Terms and Conditions which apply to an Offer and Upgrade are those applying at the date an Offer is submitted.

24. These Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with Fiji Airways’ Conditions of Carriage, Website Terms of Use, and Privacy and Security Policy which are accessible via the Fiji Airways Website.
